The Access Specialist serves as an ambassador for Howard Center and is often the first point of contact for new clients. In this office/remote role, the specialist answers incoming calls for individuals of all ages and diagnoses and helps create a welcoming, supportive first experience.

Registered Nurse – Developmental Services
Full time Registered Nurse position supporting clients in Howard Center’s Developmental Services programs.
Responsibilities:
- Complete nursing assessments, contribute to interdisciplinary care planning, and evaluate progress to ensure effective outcomes
- Reconcile medications, obtain orders, and oversee medical documentation to ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures as well as state regulations
- Provide medication and health care education to clinicians and staff
- Delegate medication administration to staff
- Collaborate with health care providers, case managers, and direct support staff to ensure client’s care needs are met
- Contribute to the development of protocols, procedures, staff training and client education
- Participate in peer review, quality assurance, and other committees as related to promoting client’s health and wellbeing.
- May provide some direct care, including injections and/or phlebotomy, however the nurse is not the primary caregiver in any program

It provides a therapeutic educational program offering unique learning opportunities to inspire personal change and well-being for adolescent males, ages 12-17 years, grades 7-12. The students enrolled in Fay Honey Knopp are part of a residential treatment program that assists youth who have engaged in sexually problematic behaviors. The programming and collaboration between the two entities is intensive and trauma informed.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Teachers and other colleagues to create safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive learning environments to engage students in meaningful learning activities and social interactions
- Utilize diagnostic teaching, informal assessments, and ongoing progress monitoring to assess student’s academic, social, emotional, and behavioral functioning
- Help to resolve interpersonal conflicts, teaches problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Contribute to student progress notes, comprehensive evaluation reports and individualized education plans (IEP’s)

The JOBS Clinician provides clinical case management services to youth, ages 16-22, with emotional/behavioral disabilities through assessment, treatment planning, coordination, and monitoring of services. This is a full-time position at the Adult Crisis Stabilization Program in Burlington. This 24/7 program helps prevent emergency room visits and assists people as they step down from inpatient hospitalizations. Last year we served 141 people who otherwise would have had to visit the ER for mental health reasons.
Working closely with the new Mental health Urgent Care and other community supports, Adult Crisis Stabilization is a critical part of Vermont’s system of care.
As a member of the leadership team, the Clinical Manager provides clinical and administrative oversight to a six-bed residential crisis stabilization program for adults experiencing acute mental health needs.
Clinical Managers are responsible for daily operations and clinical oversight of the 24/7 program. Duties include internal and external training, direct clinical oversight, and supervision of program leaders. Other responsibilities include budget management, licensing compliance, and the safe overall operation of the facility.

We seek an engaged professional with expertise in speech and language pathology including pragmatic language to provide individual and small group instruction for children with communication and social understanding challenges. Join a team of providers making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children. Provide behavioral treatment and SEL instruction for children with emotional, behavioral, and/or developmental disabilities.
The INCLUSION Tutorial and Behavioral Services (TABS) Program provides intensive, individualized support students in grades K-5 with serious emotional, behavioral, and academic challenges who have not been able to be served with the most intensive public school based supports.
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and/or group support to assigned children in accordance with individual treatment goals
- Teach social emotional learning (SEL).
- Establish positive, therapeutic relationship with children, and counseling as needed
- Collaborate with educational, Human Service professionals, and caregivers
- Use UKERU and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention to maintain a safe environment and to de-escalate a crisis

Join an innovative team that offers specialized clinical support and therapeutic opportunities to help promote healthy social, emotional, and behavioral functioning with adolescent males with trauma histories. The Park Street program is a family centered, trauma informed residential treatment program located in Rutland, VT.
The Clinician provides screening, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, care coordination and discharge planning with adolescent youth and their families to increase support and overall wellbeing, improve functioning, and decrease symptomology. This role develops, implements and coordinates treatment plans as part of a multidisciplinary team. Services may be program-based, provided via telehealth, co-located with another agency and/or in the field including home-visiting. The Clinician provides clinical guidance, support and recommendations to the individual, client’s team and or family.
Responsibilities:
- Directs clinical services to assigned population/caseload using established best practices and modality determined by program
- Provides individual, group and family therapy to facilitate success in meeting therapeutic goals
- Ability to safely manage escalated behavior, facilitates and/or provides crisis intervention, risk management, safety planning, treatment planning for clients
- Provides clinical formulation with recommendations and consultation to other agency staff, referral agencies, or other community providers
- Coordinates care and recommends additional services with other professionals or community partners for clients to meet their service needs
- Provides discharge planning including an aftercare plan, care coordination, resource and referral information
- Provides consultation and training (formal and informal) to treatment team and others, especially about relevant mental health issues, treatment and system of care
