Employer's Approach to Diversity, Equity, & Belonging

As an organization, our core purpose is to address foundational needs for affordable housing, food, community infrastructure, and access to land using a systems lens. We believe everyone deserves safe, affordable, and dignified housing, and that land is not only an economic resource, but also a source of culture, community, stewardship, and belonging that is essential to the well-being of both people and ecosystems. We are committed to prioritizing the needs, leadership, and self-determination of people and communities most impacted by poverty, displacement, racism, and other forms of systemic exclusion. We work to help build a Vermont where all people can live, stay, and thrive with dignity, safety, and meaningful access to land, housing, and community. This commitment is supported by an active Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice Committee, which helps strengthen our internal practices, build staff capacity and shared learning, and deepen our engagement with the communities and partners we serve.
