Organization Description
Prevent Child Abuse Vermont, now celebrating its 45th year, promotes and supports healthy relationships within families, schools and communities to eliminate child abuse and neglect. Our programs and trainings are committed to inclusivity in concept, language and action. Our Board, about 15 members, is seeking greater diversity as we invite new members with expertise in budget, marketing, research in our field, and lived experience. We are truly statewide and also operate nationally and internationally. We use technology to train and deliver live interactive programs and training.
Organization's Approach to Diversity, Equity, Belonging, & Inclusion

Our programs and trainings for families, schools and human service professionals, are committed to inclusivity in concept, language and action. Our staff has spent the past year and a half reading books and viewing films together on ending racism. These activities are followed by intimate, honest discussion and reflection about our work and our lives. We seek experts in related fields to read and edit our materials for inclusivity. We know the work of diversity, equity, belonging and inclusion is never ending and are committed to realizing a better world for children, families, schools and communities.
