A group of Vermont business leaders recently co-authored an opinion piece in Vermont Business Magazine called “Vermont is in trouble.” These leaders were inspired by the book “Abundance” by Ezra Klein and Derek Thompson.
In the book, Klein and Thompson lay out a vision for the country’s economic future that’s now known as the “abundance agenda.” It challenges communities to reform their zoning rules and cut red tape in order to build housing and energy infrastructure.
Three co-authors of the VBM editorial discuss how an abundance would work in Vermont: Kevin Chu, executive director of the Vermont Futures Project, Tino Rutanhira, co-executive director of the Vermont Professionals of Color Network and Seth Bowden, president of the Vermont Business Roundtable.
