Raheemah Madany
Hi y’all! My name is Raheemah Muhammad Madany, and I use they/them pronouns. I am a proud Black, Queer, and Trans Vermonter. I was born in Los Angeles, California, but spent the latter half of my childhood growing up in Bennington, Vermont, along with my mother and five siblings. Before settling in the Green Mountain State, I lived abroad in Jordan, the Middle East, and The Gambia, West Africa. Currently, I live in Burlington with my beautiful partner and our many plants.
I attended the State University of New York (SUNY) at Cortland, majored in Exercise Science and Anthropology, studied abroad at the German Sport University, and completed my B.S. degree at the University of Vermont (UVM). I am passionate about accessibility, public health, and strengthening community relationships among BIPOC and 2SLGBTQ+ folks.
Outside of my professional work, I enjoy cooking, longboarding, snowboarding, hiking, biking, arts and crafts, learning ASL, watching my favorite anime, and spending time with my loved ones!
