HireAbility is looking for an experienced human service professional with an ability to support high school students and young adults with psychological, physical or cognitve disabilities.
The VR counselor would assist individuals in preparing for employment through surveying their interests and skills and facilitate career exploratory activities and work experiences. During transition from high school to young adulthood, the VR Counselor would help individuals to identify post-secondary employment, training and educational options and assist them to engage in these activities.
This position involves a close working relationship with local high schools, and multiple community partners. Experience in counseling or background in employment services is beneficial. Previous work with adolescents is extremely helpful. Job duties include assessment, guidance, and counseling, assisting in finding employment and work experiences, case management, documentation, and collaboration with many community providers. Good computer skills are required and proficiency in MS Office as well as various video platforms (MS Teams, Zoom, Facetime, etc.). Frequent travel will be expected.
This position is being recruited at 3 levels: VR Counselor I & II and VR Associate. Applicants must apply for each of the levels for which they qualify and wish to be considered.
