About the Job

Upward Bound is a federally-funded program that helps limited-income/first generation high school students prepare themselves for college.

The Program Coordinator is crucial in assisting and implementing program management, academic year and summer college advisement/advocacy, curriculum, program design, and university outreach efforts in support of the Upward Bound Program.

Duties include: direct participant engagement, fostering a sense of belonging, assisting with recruitment, outreach, supervising, evaluating academic year and summer program field trips, implementing and administering events, services, and community service opportunities. In conjunction with the Program Director, plans the Saturday and Summer College curricula, services, and activities.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with three years experience or its equivalent in higher education and/or secondary school environment, counseling, or related field. Demonstrated commitment to addressing diversity and equity concerns as well as sensitivity and familiarity with the needs of individuals who have limited income and/or are from educationally disadvantaged backgrounds. Strong demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion required. A valid driver’s license and some night and weekend work required.

Knowledge of TRIO federal programs is desirable, with experience in training, student assessment, and program evaluation. Strong communication and administrative skills, strong program management, ability to work collaboratively and independently, and innovative thinking and approaches.

Wage or Salary
Hiring salary range is $50,000 - $55,000, this is a full-time, 12 month, Staff United represented position.
