Join Howard Center’s Peer Specialist team! The START team is a small (5) team positioned for growth. Be a part of a leadership team that is integrating Peer Specialists throughout our organization. Through outreach, engagement, and connection START (Stabilization, Treatment, And Recovery Team) offers mental health recovery support that is strengths based and hope driven. Our diverse and unique stories emphasize resiliency and recovery, and our work incorporates and reflects the principles and tasks of Intentional Peer Support. Services are informed and guided by team members’ personal experience with recovery from mental health and/or substance use.

This position offers a blend of leadership/supervisory responsibilities and direct service. Assist in program coordination including staff supervision, recruitment, training, and scheduling in a peer support program. And provide direct intervention support to clients.


  • Assist with recruitment and supervision of staff
  • Provide direct service to clients
  • Assist and monitor in program operations including staff scheduling, consultation and training
  • Complete clinical records in E.H.R, timesheets and administrative reports


  • Personal recovery experience (mental health and/or substance use
  • Valid driver’s license and use of a personal vehicle
  • Two years of relevant experience
  • Experience in supervisory/leadership role preferred

  • Starting at $43,191
