About the Job

School Programs Coordinator

The Vermont Foodbank seeks a self-motivated, energetic School Programs Coordinator. This part time (15-20 hours a week), time bound (2 year) position reports to the Manager of Food Access Programs and is expected to continue through November 2024. The primary components of this position include monitoring, sustaining, and adapting the school programs to center the child and their family’s food needs. The position works closely with VF staff in Operations, Community Impact, and other departments. The coordinator serves as a liaison between program partners and the Vermont Foodbank (VF), working with school partners to place their backpack orders; address capacity challenges; build partner responsiveness and ownership; and incorporate feedback into program development.

A significant portion of this position’s workload can be handled remotely but the position will be based out of one of the three Vermont Foodbank locations (Barre, Brattleboro, or Rutland).  Special consideration will be given to candidates within a 1 hour driving distance from one of our locations. Experience working independently with remote teams and a proven track record of coordinating school and/or youth community programs is strongly preferred. This position requires the ability to be able to travel if needed.

The selected candidate will join an energetic, empowered, collaborative team that derives joy from the work and is wholly dedicated to VF’s mission. To apply for this position, please visit https://recruiting.paylocity.com/recruiting/jobs/Details/1418572/Vermont-Foodbank/School-Programs-Coordinator  and submit an employment application with a resume and cover letter attached. This position is a part-time, temporary position with the anticipated pay set at $25 per hour.

The Vermont Foodbank’s work culture is progressive, forward thinking, and equity minded. Staff have the opportunity to fully develop their potential in a variety of ways: as organizational leaders, in shaping programs and advocacy efforts, and in working towards a future where everyone in Vermont has enough food every day.
