People and Culture Leader
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the new People and Culture Leader will bring to life the vision and direction of VEC by developing and supporting a skilled and engaged workforce. You have strong communication skills, are a good listener, and thrive on collaboration. You have exceptional judgement, a desire to recruit and develop a talented team, and a belief in the possibility of people. You are tenacious, curious, optimistic, and empathetic and use these traits to provide guidance, accountability and people advocacy across the organization to drive excellent leadership.
You will be a working leader who oversees effective delivery of all Human Resource functions to achieve results that align with the purpose, vision and core values of VEC. You will regularly design and lead strategies to improve recruiting, engagement, teamwork and development of all employees by collecting and synthesizing input from stakeholders, identifying opportunities for improvement, proposing creative and practical solutions and thoughtfully designing process rollouts through a change management lens.
Required education and/or experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or related field.
- A minimum of five years of human resource management experience preferred, union environment a plus.
- Knowledge of a broad range of human resource strategies, practices and trends, including compensation, performance management, safety, hiring, employee relations, culture alignment, strategic planning, employee engagement and organizational structure design.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
