The Marketing and Communications Coordinator is responsible for coordinating communications and marketing efforts for the Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont (NOFA-VT) and Vermont Organic Farmers (VOF). The Marketing and Communications Coordinator reports to the Marketing and Communications Director.

Job Summary
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator works closely with the Marketing and Communications Director to implement the strategic marketing and communications strategy for NOFA-VT and VOF. This includes helping to tell the story of our programs and mission-driven work, helping contribute to the movement for a livable future, promoting the VOF certification brand, coordinating and executing print and digital advertising campaigns, coordinating NOFA-VT’s web presence, creating social media content, supporting press relations, event promotion and staffing, and coordinating production of our quarterly print newsletter and VOF’s annual producer directory.
General Responsibilities
- Supporting the creation of NOFA-VT and VOF print materials by soliciting staff input and content, writing copy as needed, sourcing high-quality photos, doing design and layout, and managing print processes.
- Supporting NOFA-VT and VOF’s web presence by creating content for and updating each website regularly (including homepage, blog, and program pages).
- Creating content for NOFA-VT and VOF’s social media channels, including coordinating with other staff to solicit relevant information, copywriting, sourcing imagery, and creating graphics.
- Coordinating content, development, and dissemination of e-newsletters.
- Coordinating occasional ad campaigns, including setting up and monitoring social media ads and placing ads with partners and media outlets.
- Supporting press relations with media outlets, including contributing to press releases and story pitches
- Supporting new activities that emerge as a result of new strategic marketing plans.
- Collaborating with the Development and Engagement team to provide membership, fundraising, and engagement support.
Desired Qualifications
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator possesses expertise in strategic communication and marketing fundamentals, graphic design skills, strong written and oral communications skills, a creative, energetic attitude, and the ability to balance many projects. Experience with Google Suite, email marketing platforms, social media platforms, basic website maintenance, and Adobe Creative Suite is necessary. A strong commitment to justice and a thriving future for Vermont agriculture is preferred.
Compensation
This is a program staff level position, falling into NOFA-VT’s program staff pay band of $23.60 – $30.50 per hour. NOFA-VT benefits include combined time off for employees working 25 hrs/week or more. Additional benefits, including health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, retirement, and an employee assistance program are available to employees working 30 or more hrs/week.
Work Schedule and Location
Our office is located in Richmond, VT, though most staff work in a hybrid format, balancing in-person work and collaboration at the office or another central location, and working from home, if desired. Work is typically conducted Monday through Friday during regular business hours, though this position will occasionally include evening and weekend hours to support events throughout the year. Remote work from within Vermont will be considered, though applicants must have the ability and willingness to travel to the Richmond office or other nearby locations somewhat regularly for in-person collaboration.
