The Director of Communications and Marketing leads creation and implementation of all communications strategies, initiatives and products to significantly lift MC’s profile in the community and state. This key leadership position works in collaboration with directors and staff to ensure overall outreach success of the organization.
Our mission is grounded in the practice of establishing classroom communities where people feel a sense of belonging. We offer ELL, U.S. Citizenship test preparation and leadership programs to advance opportunities for immigrants, former refugees, and migrants in our community. We recruit and support women of color in starting and operating small businesses. We intentionally encourage people of diverse backgrounds and ethnicity to participate. About 50% of our Education Program participants are people of color with 18 countries of origin represented.
Our board is 16% people of color and represents a diverse group of volunteers in terms of age, socio-economic status and gender identities. We are actively working to increase diversity of the Board and employees. Two new staff directors are DEI facilitators and experts. We embed DEI across curriculum and in volunteer training.
