The Development Coordinator collaborates with the development and communications team to help inspire support for Mercy Connections’ mission in order to cultivate and grow its active donor base, meet annual fundraising goals and help significantly lift MC’s profile in the community and state. This role is focused on data management, gift processing, managing mailings, prospect research and supporting our annual cycle of fundraising campaigns and events.
Our mission is grounded in the practice of establishing classroom communities where people feel a sense of belonging. We offer ELL, U.S. Citizenship test preparation and leadership programs to advance opportunities for immigrants, former refugees, and migrants in our community. We recruit and support women of color in starting and operating small businesses. We intentionally encourage people of diverse backgrounds and ethnicity to participate. About 50% of our Education Program participants are people of color with 18 countries of origin represented.
Our board is 16% people of color and represents a diverse group of volunteers in terms of age, socio-economic status and gender identities. We are actively working to increase diversity of the Board and employees. Two new staff directors are DEI facilitators and experts. We embed DEI across curriculum and in volunteer training. We are an equal opportunity employer and follow federal regulations when hiring.
