The Vermont Land Trust is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We honor and invite people of all backgrounds and life experiences to apply.
Our Diversity, Equity, and Belonging efforts cross our internal and external communities. Internally, our Power, Privilege, and Equity working group coordinates workshops, learning, and dialogue to explore the legacy of racism and injustice in Vermont, and within our sector more specifically. Our most recent learning journey focused on the history of Indigenous people in lands now known as Vermont.
These internal conversations have informed our approach to programs and services, including land conservation projects with people from marginalized and oppressed communities. Some of our closest partners in this work include the four bands of the Abenaki, SUSU community farm, the Northeast Farmers of Color Land Trust, and the Releaf collective. These partnerships will help to shape the distribution of funds we received in 2022 from the High Meadows Fund to expand land access and ownership among historically and marginalized oppressed people.
