Job Description
Job Title: Glass Configuring Technician Date: February, 2018
Reports To: Facilities and Equipment Manager
Range: 1
Job Summary: The Glass Configuring Technician prepares product for the cutting process, performs the glass cutting process utilizing custom and modified machine tools, and evaluates the product to ensure quality standards are being constantly met.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare product for configuring process
- Operate and maintain core drilling and dicing equipment
- Measure and evaluate configured parts to assure tolerances are met per product specifications
- Inspect product for any quality issues or surface quality imperfections
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment
- Measure and verify performance of core drilling and dicing equipment
- Operate and maintain chamfering equipment
- Identify and report quality problems or trends
- Requisition components and supplies to maintain appropriate stock levels

Qualifications:
- Able to utilize several CNC type programs.
- Able to stand for extended periods
- Able to use micrometers, calipers and other measuring tools
- Able to read and understand mechanical prints, specifications and tolerances
- Able to do the math required to machine precision glass parts
- Able to work in a team environment sharing task
- Self-starter, detail oriented, independent worker
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
- Ability to analyze and resolve problems
- Ability to work effectively with all individuals/groups within the organization
