Job Summary

We’re seeking an experienced accountant to oversee this team in the role of Controller. The ideal candidate will have proven industry experience as an accountant within a senior role. As a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst, you will make it your mission to streamline our financial reporting, budgeting, and payroll processes. You will produce thorough financial-status reports for senior management to help improve our operational efficiency and aid in our continued growth.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Responsible for timely and accurate monthly closing of books and managing and monitoring all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate IFRS, US GAAP standards and regulatory requirements for multiple entities.
  • Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior management by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points.
  • Maintain relationships with financial institutions in conjunction with the CFO. Administer banking arrangements and loan agreements, receives, has custody of and disburses the company’s monies. Maintains sources and records for the company’s current borrowings from lending institutions.
  • Manage and monitor weekly and monthly cash flow along multiple entities.
  • Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to current economic landscape.
  • Achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective action working with local management as well as leadership.
  • Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs and both team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures.  Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow.
  • Help develop and support short and long-term operational strategies providing financial analysis and guidance.
  • In conjunction with the Corporation’s Finance team, establish financial and operating benchmarks, KPIs budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on a bi-weekly, monthly, and annual basis
  • Preparing year end audit files for annual audit as required.
  • Comply with local, state and federal government regulations, requirements and tax filings by remaining knowledgeable about existing, new, and future legislation, including banking regulations specific to our industry.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or related field. CPA highly preferred.
  • 5+ years proven accounting experience as a senior-level accounting or finance manager.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory standards (IFRS and US GAAP).
  • Strong understanding of economic and banking processes.
  • Strong working knowledge of detailed financial data analysis and exceptional Excel skills.
  • Exemplary history of financial project management.
  • Experience with ERP software with a preference for SAP ByDesign.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reporting.
  • Working knowledge of knowledge of U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations and provisions of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
