Job Description:

Satori VT is looking for a team player that is looking to develop their skills in the finance and cannabis industries. We are seeking a motivated self-starter who would like the opportunity to grow with the largest recreational startup in the state of Vermont. We would like someone who is organized and able to adapt as we continue to scale our business. The Finance Specialist role will include assisting with the day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash reconciliation, maintaining accounting records and files, purchasing supplies, and following up with vendors and customers, as well as assisting the Finance Manager with other tasks as needed.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
  • Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable
  • Ensure prompt collections for accounts receivable
  • Assist with daily and monthly bank reconciliations
  • Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
  • Coordinate and identify purchasing needs with department managers
  • Maintain supply inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipate needed supplies
  • assemble, review, and verify invoices and payment requests
  • Enter and upload invoices into system
  • Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments
  • Prepare and perform check runs
  • Post transactions to journals, ledgers, and other records
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
  • Maintain vendor files
  • Provide supporting documentation for audits
  • Maintain accurate historical records
  • Maintain confidentiality of organizational information
  • Assist with other projects or responsibilities at the direction of leadership
  • Assist with inventory counts and audits as needed

 

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check as mandated by the Cannabis Control Board
  • 1-3 years accounts payable/accounts receivable and buying experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience
  • Up to date knowledge and experience in accounting software and integrated accounting systems
  • Knowledge of general accounting procedures
  • Proficiency in Windows-based software and internet navigation.
  • Knowledge of relevant accounting software (QuickBooks is a plus)
  • Accurate data entry and record keeping
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to maintain the utmost of confidentiality
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Ability to make good judgement
  • Vendor relationship skills
  • Problem analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment
