The Sarah Holbrook Community Center (SHCC) is seeking a visionary and passionate Executive Director to lead our organization to new heights!

As our Executive Director, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Shape the future of SHCC by developing and implementing strategic plans
  • Inspire and lead a talented team of staff and volunteers
  • Build strong relationships with community partners and stakeholders
  • Secure the financial resources needed to sustain and grow our programs
  • Make a lasting impact on the lives of the children and families we serve

We are looking for a leader who:

  • Has a deep commitment to positive youth development and social justice
  • Brings at least 5 years of experience in nonprofit management and administration
  • Possesses exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Is a strategic thinker with the ability to turn vision into action
  • Has a track record of successful fundraising and financial management

The Sara Holbrook Community Center (SHCC) has a long-standing commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, which is deeply woven into its mission and history. Founded in 1937 to support immigrant and refugee populations, SHCC has continuously adapted to address the evolving needs of the community it serves.

In recent years, SHCC has made significant strides in advancing its diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives. The organization has:
** Actively worked to diversify its board, significantly increasing Board representation from the global majority, those with direct lived experience, and SHCC alumni.
** Conducted a DEI review of HR and program policies and procedures,
** Aligned salaries with market rates
integrated a capability framework for recruitment and hiring practices to minimize bias

Additionally, all staff members participate in cultural and linguistic training at least once a year.

To ensure that diversity, equity, and inclusion remain at the forefront of our mission and actions, SHCC has a DEIB Committee charged with continuous improvement. The committee focuses on being responsive to community needs and intentional in its DEIB initiatives.
