SEEKING: Executive Director
Join us to lead the Vermont Chittenden County Public Safety Authority!
In March 2018, voters in six Vermont communities voted to form the Chittenden County Public Safety Authority (CCPSA), a new union municipal district to provide regional emergency dispatch services. The communities of Burlington, Colchester, Milton, South Burlington, Williston, and Winooski came together with the goals of creating a regional dispatch center that would:
- Improve mutual aid among towns
- Increase the number of dispatchers on duty in a single location, allowing more dispatchers to resource multiple emergencies
- Provide additional resources to contribute to supervision, quality assurance, training, and career advancement opportunities within the field of public safety dispatch
- Provide dedicated oversight to more fire and emergency medical services, increasing responder safety
- And, in the future, becoming a Public Safety Answering Point to provide more expansive service
After several years of planning and amassing start-up capital, the Board of Directors seeks to hire our first Executive Director for the newly created stand-alone government Authority. The professional in this position shall be responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the Center to include overall managerial and strategic direction, budget development and management, and policy and relationship leadership with the Operations Committee (comprised of the Police and Fire Chiefs from the region) to ensure high quality 911 emergency services and support. The Board seeks to onboard this Director in advance of start of operations so the Director can lead policy development, hiring, and creation of the new Authority.
