The Position: The Digital Merchandising Manager is responsible for building compelling assortments for e-commerce that support revenue and brand goals. This role works cross functionally to identify and advocate for product needs, drive go-to-market product strategies and guide category and channel investments. The Digital Merchandising Manager leverages website & customer data as well as competitive research to recommend new ways to bring King Arthur’s baking products to life through smart merchandising techniques. This role ensures that our web experience helps the customer make the right buying decisions for their baking needs.

Reports To: Director, Digital Commerce, Direct to Consumer (DTC)

Location: Hybrid. White River Junction VT; hybrid onsite requiring 1 day onsite each week. Ideal candidates will be located within a 2–3-hour drive from our offices.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Owns digital merchandising across desktop and mobile web.
  • Manages the Digital Commerce Calendar, ensuring strategy and operational alignment with Merchandising, Buying, Planning, Operations and Marketing teams.
  • Partner with Marketing leads on key projects for content to commerce expression across digital properties.
  • Develops seasonal merchandising content plans for web and email that layer into the overall editorial calendar for the brand. Identifies and defines innovative and productive web and email features, content, photography, video, messaging requirements to call out unique properties of products that are important to the target consumer.
  • Maximizes online sales performance (i.e., average order value, units per transaction), with focus on making continuous improvements in customer experience ratings, cross-sell strategies, and promotion execution
  • Analyzes product performance and consumer behavior. Utilizes quantitative and qualitative data to understand prior seasons’ assortment performance, content and merchandise feature performance, and behavioral analysis of online customer. Summarize findings and actions.
  • Identifies new features or optimization opportunities, measures business opportunity, and partners with the product and program management teams for discovery and implementation.
  • Team Management/Leadership Manage a team of e-commerce specialists. Provide them with training, guidance, and support to ensure their professional growth and the success of our business.

Education & Experience

  • 5+ years merchandising experience from a top tier direct-to-consumer brand
  • Experience working with an e-commerce platform (e.g. Big Commerce, Salesforce)
  • Experience working with web analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Content Square).
  • Interest in baking a plus

  • Strategic thinking: Plan and direct site & email merchandising and content across seasons, blending product, content, and brand pillars. Prioritize website functionality enhancements and make recommendations to improve KPIs.
  • Project Management: Ability to plan, execute, and monitor both technology & merchandising projects. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Data Analysis: Proficiency in analyzing sales & website data to understand areas of opportunity for improved site merchandising.
  • Communication and influence: Articulate thoughts and express ideas effectively using oral, written, and visual communication skills, as well as listening skills to gain understanding. The ability to deliver information in person, in writing, and in a digital world. The ability to have a positive impact on others is persuasive and engaging to build understanding.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with various teams internally and externally to learn, share, and develop best practices. Earns trust to influence outcomes and directions. Confidently functions as subject matter expert with all cross-functional partners. Ability to provide clear actionable, recommendations and insights to improve customer experience and business performance.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership skills, including ability to set clear, measurable performance goals, coach, mentor, and inspire teams, and lead through change. Understands the benefit of working cross-functionally as a team.
