About the Job

The Vermont Foodbank seeks a data savvy and analytical relationship-builder responsible for expanding the Foodbank’s deep community work* to 2-3 new communities of focus during FY22-FY24. The successful candidate will be able to discover valid sources of data, uncover the story behind numbers and tell that story to both technical and non-technical audiences. An understanding of equitable data sources is key.

 

The Data Insights Project Manager (DIPM) will build partnerships with community leaders and local organizations interested in making long-term improvements to food security. DIPM is also responsible for helping to determine the impact of the Vermont Foodbank’s community-based programs and services using both quantitative and qualitative data. This position collects and analyzes internal and external data to help drive innovation, decision-making, and program planning in our deep community work and in overall organizational strategy.

 

As part of the Community Impact department, this position will support the Foodbank’s efforts to utilize data to effectively understand and serve those in specific communities and statewide. The DIPM will ultimately create a guide for deep community work for use in additional communities across the state.

 

*strategy VF is intentionally deploying to augment traditional food acquisition and distribution through partners. Identifying the barriers to food access that are unique to an underserved community and co-creating solutions to hunger there. Solutions could include right-sizing existing VF services or trying something new, all led by and executed through local partners and/or potentially already existing collaboratives.

 

This position’s workload can be handled remotely, however applicants should be available for regular travel to the Northeast Kingdom as it is the initial geographic focus area for this work. If needed, applicants can also use office space at one of the Foodbank’s three facilities, in Barre, Brattleboro, or Rutland, or at our shared office space in Chittenden County.
