The Education Department of Saint Michael’s College is seeking an active scholar and skilled instructor for the position of Coordinator of School Leadership beginning August 2024. This faculty member will be an integral part of a cohesive education department that has an excellent reputation for guiding graduate students to become educational leaders. In addition, this faculty member will join a college community dedicated to academic excellence, service, diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Teach graduate master’s level courses in educational leadership including: Legal and Financial Management of Schools; Using Data to Improve Student Learning; and Teacher Development
  • Coordinate the School Leadership Program in graduate education
  • Supervise practica for teachers, principals, and curriculum and special education directors
  • Advise graduate students
  • Participate in college and education department meetings and committees
  • Develop and nurture partnerships with local school districts and the Vermont Agency of Education
  • Maintain and advance a vibrant School Leadership Program

Requirements:

Applicants must have the following:

  • Earned master’s degree (doctorate preferred) with expertise and concentration in educational leadership by August 2024
  • Minimum of five years experience as a successful building and/or school district leader (leadership in special education preferred)
  • Minimum of five years teaching experience at the PreK-12 grade level
  • Experience in working with diverse student populations
  • Demonstration of past and current involvement in promoting equity, inclusion, and diversity
  • Evidence of creating partnerships with school districts
  • Demonstration of strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to successfully integrate technology for instructional and administrative responsibilities
  • Experience in applying rules and regulations of the Vermont Agency of Education that govern school administration
  • Experience teaching education courses at the college or university level (preferred)
