VT PoC is seeking a Communications and Event Coordinator with strong interest/knowledge and understanding of communications and event planning. The contribution of the Communications and Event Coordinator will bolster community engagement through direct outreach methods and dynamic event offerings. Our ideal candidate would possess the ability to think critically and apply their skills to the development of a strategic plan for engagement. We are looking for an individual with the ability to anticipate the needs of projects across the organization’s portfolio. Candidates for this position must be able to anticipate needs, be creative and self-motivated. This individual’s role is to increase visibility and engagement of our network and to connect BIPOC professionals and entrepreneurs to educational, employment, business and leadership opportunities in Vermont.
The ideal candidate should possess a basic understanding of public policy, racial disparities, social justice issues, as well as familiarity of Vermont BIPOC community networks. This position will work with a team of professionals who care deeply about racial equity, inclusion and belonging.
This is a contract position that will report directly to the Director of Operations and Development to carry out our core pillars. This position is currently remote with the possibility of in-person meetings as requested.
