About the Job

Interested in being part of a mission-driven and joyful team helping students and alums develop their career- confidence, and courage? Then join us!  We are seeking a Career Coach to lead our Business & Entrepreneurship and our Food, Environment & Sustainability Interest Groups. These networks connect students to the people, opportunities, and resources they need to graduate career ready. 

Seeking: Career Coach 

Leverage your excellent networking skills to develop a robust network of people to guide and encourage students/alums in building their employability capital.  As part of our Networking Team, you will play a critical role in bridging the gap between job seekers and job opportunities; between those with questions and alums who have career advice to offer; and between uncertain students and the faculty & staff who see their talents. You’ll teach students how to leverage the Interest Group networks; guide them in developing an awareness of their values, interests, skills, and competencies; coach them on how to find and pursue relevant experiences; and advise them in producing effective application materials.  Your team of Peer Leaders will help you envision and execute communications and programming, including a signature event, for each of your Interest Groups.

Qualifications 

A successful coach must be able to facilitate career development across social identities, be a creative problem solver, and be invested in advancing efforts to increase justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. They must also possess knowledge of career development and coaching, be an effective networker, and be skilled in program development and facilitation.  In addition, they will be well versed in effective communication, willing to “fail forward,” and have bachelor’s degree + 3 years related experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

Employer's Approach to Diversity, Equity, & Belonging

We bring in speakers for both students and employers on the topic of mental health and how to bring your whole self to work. We are developing a DEI statement for our office and a 2 year DEI Strategic Plan (in addition, to the divisional DEI 5 year plan). We develop resources including web, modules, workshops, presentations, etc. on topics pertaining to DEI and the career development.
