Vermont Community Loan Fund (VCLF) is looking for a new team member to join our Business Resource Center, located in the small and beautiful capital city of Montpelier, Vermont.

Our mission-driven organization is looking for a Business Advisor to provide a variety of business and financial advisory services and support to our portfolio of clients throughout the state of Vermont. A successful applicant will be someone who enjoys building relationships and engaging with entrepreneurial driven people from widely varied backgrounds, is committed to our mission of healthy communities and financially stability for all who call Vermont home, and desires to support and lift up others.

A successful candidate has:

  • Experience working in or for, small businesses in a variety of roles.
  • A strong understanding of business accounting
  • Ability to use spreadsheets and their basic functions.
  • Passion for social justice, whole community health, and thriving, financially stable businesses.
  • Ability to work efficiently and enthusiastically on their own and in a collaborative team setting.
  • Enthusiasm and ability to embrace the merits of technology driven tools and resources as equally as they value personal connection and conversation.

Candidates who exhibit these qualities, but haven’t worked as a business advisor, are encouraged to apply.

At VCLF, we value in-person interaction as a team, and we have put into place strict COVID-safe protocols. In addition, we have infrastructure put in place for remote meetings as needed.  Travel throughout the state is required under normal circumstances, and we continue to do so only when it is safe to meet with clients in person. In addition, there is flexibility in the schedule as there may be night and weekend hours on a case-to-case basis and/or for special events.

For 35 years, as Vermont’s largest non-profit financial institution, the Vermont Community Loan Fund (VCLF) provides loans and resources to businesses, nonprofits, community organizations, farms and food producers, child care providers, and developers of affordable housing.
