The Craftsbury Outdoor Center in collaboration with Unlikely Riders and The University of Vermont Rubenstein School for Environment and Natural Resources, are hosting BIPOC Ski Days January 22nd and February 12th 2022

People of all ability levels and experience are welcome, from 1st time cross country skiers to those with experience. 2 group lessons will be offered, one at 10:30am and one at 1:30 pm. Lessons will be limited to 20 people with the goal of having all BIPOC instructors. The lesson portion will be approximately 1 hour long and people are welcome to stay and explore the trails afterwards if they wish.

Folks are also welcome to just come and meet and make friends and ski or snowshoe for the day on their own, without taking part in the group lessons. All participants will receive complimentary trail use and rental equipment including snowshoes instead of ski if they prefer. People should plan to arrive about 1/2 hour before their lesson time to ensure they have time for parking, check-in and equipment outfitting. 

Hot drinks and cookies will be provided, we recommend folks bring their own additional snacks and lunch. The cafe is closed and there is limited food service at the Center this winter. BIPOC Ski Day participants will receive a coupon for a complimentary return visit including rental gear that can be redeemed anytime during the remainder of the winter season.

In order to respect the health, safety and comfort of all during the ongoing pandemic, we are asking participants to wear masks while attending the event. The use of N95 or KN95 masks is highly recommended.

Due to the changing nature of the pandemic, the event may need to be rescheduled with little advance notice due to staffing shortages. Check your email for any event notices or updates before heading out.
