American composers Adolphus Hailstork and William Grant Still will be featured in VSO’s 90th season opening concert at the Paramount Theatre, with poetry readings by narrator Ashley Snow. Guest soloist banjoist Bela Fleck rounds out this concert of George Gershwin, Hailstork, and Still, conducted by VSO Music Director Andrew Crust. A free, pre-performance talk, Musically Speaking, will include Hailstork and Fleck in conversation with Vermont Public classical radio host Helen Lyons at 6:30 p.m. at the Paramount (open to all concert ticketholders).
