Organization Description
The Vermont Foodbank's (VF) vision is a Vermont where everyone has equitable access to nourishing food every day, everyone takes action to end hunger and poverty, and everyone has what they need to thrive. Vermont's only food bank, VF distributed 17 million pounds of food last year directly and through a network of 200 community partners, including food shelves, meal sites, hospitals, and schools. VF believes that anti-hunger work is only possible with a commitment to removing barriers caused by systems of oppression - such as racism and classism - that perpetuate hunger and poverty and disproportionately impact some identities more than others.Organization's Approach to Diversity, Equity, Belonging, & Inclusion
It is vital that people who are marginalized are included and heard in our food security work in Vermont. As such, our board is committed to building and supporting a diverse, inclusive, and equitable environment. We seek board members who bring a diversity of experience, identities, and opinions to meetings.
