Organization Description
Since 2007, New England Center for Circus Arts (NECCA) has worked to empower a community of artists, students, and staff to strengthen their skills and achieve their goals through the joyful and transformative power of circus arts. Based in Brattleboro, VT the non-profit organization serves over 2,000 youth and adult students annually in recreational circus classes, pre-professional and professional programs and workshops.
Organization's Approach to Diversity, Equity, Belonging, & Inclusion

The Board created a Statement for DEI in 2021 and created a DEI Resource Group comprised of staff, board, students and community members who don't hold positions of power. Since then - we have made gains in the following ways:
- Set focus areas for the year: Body Neutrality (Diversity), Financial Literacy (Equity), and Neurodiversity (Inclusion)
- Updated the Accessibility Statement and identified areas of opportunity for improvement
- Staff training, including consent in coaching
- DEI survey written with the help of Canopy Studio and distributed to the wider NECCA community for responses
