Organization Description
The mission of the Community Sailing Center (CSC) is to encourage and celebrate the responsible use and long-term stewardship of Lake Champlain by fostering educational and recreational opportunities for all members of our community. The board is currently composed of 13 directors with expertise ranging from education, state and municipal government, legal, governance, and marketing. The Community Sailing Center is actively searching for candidates who have expertise in the areas of accounting or fundraising.
Organization's Approach to Diversity, Equity, Belonging, & Inclusion

Since 2017, the CSC has been undertaking cultural competency training for all staff. In 2020, the board incorporated an initiative to build a culture of diversity, inclusion and belonging into its 3-year strategic plan. In 2021, we created the Diversity Access Initiative in order to increase participation in summer camps among BIPOC youth. As a result, the CSC has increased diverse participation by 300% over a single year.
